Rachel Hammans Tips
  1. Know You are Not Alone - Whether a working mom or stay-at-home mom, remember you’re not alone. Millions of moms experience the same things you do each day.
  2. Clean Your Emotional House - Surround yourself with positive, like-minded people who want the best for you.
  3. There is an “I” in Family - Taking an adult time out (like treating yourself to National Mom's Night Out) is not selfish, but self-preservation. It helps you keep your sanity, which is a win/win situation for both you and your family.
  4. Enjoy the Moment - Don't worry about past decisions or obsess about future ones. By doing so, you miss the present. Stay focused on the here and now.
  5. Laughing is Better than Prozac - Take everything in stride and use humor to deal with the situations at hand.

This first-of-its-kind event encourages moms to take a well deserved night off from the family and experience the feeling of a Caribbean escape at Bahama Breeze with other moms and friends (if you don’t have a Bahama Breeze in your city, we encourage you to still take the night off and go to your favorite local restaurant).

Bahama Breeze will donate 100% of the profits in each restaurant on March 22 to Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

In addition to enjoying a much needed night off from the family, moms who go to Bahama Breeze for "National Mom’s Night Out" will also receive a free gift and a chance to win a much needed three-day, two night getaway for five to Atlantis, courtesy of Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, and The Islands Of The Bahamas. You can also register to win the trip here.

Rachel Hamman is collecting stories for her upcoming book called “Mom’s Night Out!” that will be released in March 2008. It will show overworked and underappreciated moms how to make time for themselves in a guilt-free way that benefits the entire family. And you can be part of it!

Simply share a short, funny story about something your kids or husband did that made you realize it was definitely time for a Mom’s Night Out! For example: Has your toddler ever painted a mural on your living room wall, using your lipstick case as “paints?" Or, has your helpful elementary-school aged son ever tried to surprise you by washing your new BMW with a Brillo pad? Please submit your story by May 31, 2007.
